During his or her thesis, the doctoral student must complete his or her scientific training by taking courses in scientific opening which he or she will choose from the range offered by the Doctoral School. These courses are intended to broaden the scope of interest of doctoral students, particularly to help them prepare their post-doctoral thesis.

Each doctoral student is asked to follow at least threecourses, preferably during the first two years of the thesis. In order to participate fully, it is recommended that they draw up their planning accordingly. These courses are unique, different each year and open to everyone. If justified, and with the prior agreement of the ED Director, the doctoral student may take a course on the three courses requested in the form of a summer school, workshop or scientific modules in his/her field of activity.
