The Région Grand ‘ Est (including Alsace) offers doctoral contracts for the preparation of theses in any institution of higher education or research located in Alsace. Particular attention is paid to applications co-financed by another partner (research or technology transfer organizations, companies, etc.). The Region can also finance topics belonging to Priority Themes. Applicants are invited to contact a thesis supervisor.
The award of a doctoral contract from the University of Strasbourg is subject to a number of conditions. University contracts are awarded by the Doctoral School to PhD topics grouped under Priority Themes. Applicants who hold a Master’s degree are invited to send their file to the thesis director of their choice, who forward it to the Doctoral School for examination. The allocation of an allocation is definitive only after approval of the Doctoral School.
In addition to the thesis topics above, there are other theses proposals, which should be consulted regularly. They allow you to prepare a thesis in a university or industrial laboratory, in France or abroad.

The Doctoral School of Physics and Chemistry-Physics is co-accredited between Unistra and UHA. It aims to provide research training in the areas of interest of its 8 laboratories. The spectrum of research themes is broad, in line with the broad orientations that make up the strength of the Strasbourg scientific pole, ranging from subatomic physics to astrophysics, through the physics of condensed matter with its ramifications in the nanosciences ( properties of unique objects), functional materials (optics, magnetism and spintronics) and mesoscopic physics. The doctoral school is highly multidisciplinary as shown by the different priority themes that are redefined each year, combining the contributions of physics and chemistry to the interface with life sciences, for example in biomedical imaging but also in biomaterials and polymeric materials.
PhD students enrolled or wishing to register for the UHA can refer to the site of the Mulhouse antenna.

The 2023 edition of the CDD will take place on Thursday 23rd March 2023 in the Collège Doctoral Européen, located on the Esplanade campus in Strasbourg (46 Bd de la Victoire).

Attending and participating by presenting their work through a poster or an oral presentation are strongly recommended for all PhD students.
Firstly, it will be an opportunity for you to share your work with the community of the doctoral school; secondly, it will be an important experience as you have to vulgarize and communicate your work to a non-specialist audience, two things that are capital in many domains.

The PhD Students’ Congress (CDD) is an opportunity for all doctoral students to meet and present their work in a friendly moment. This day also allows teacher-researchers and master’s students to meet doctoral students from their laboratories.
The CDD is organized by the doctoral students of the Doctoral School Physics and Chemistry-Physics of the University of Strasbourg.
