NEW – Proposition of template in Latex format for the ED182 thesis manuscript

The necessary elements are included in PhDThesisED182Template.zip:

  • a document class called PhDThesisED182.cls, based on the book class, containing some minimal number of packages and commands
  • the official ED182 front cover and back cover are directly implemented in .tex format
  • an example of main file (main.tex) creating a document (of class PhDThesisED182) with an example of architecture (front cover, abstract, table of contents, introduction, a few chapters, conclusions, appendices, bibliography, back cover)

An example of usage is available via this Overleaf link.

Many comments are already available inside the files, but here are some spar remarks:

  • the content of the .zip file can be imported locally (e.g. TexMaker) or on Overleaf
  • the user’s name and firstname, along with the thesis title are indicated lines 17 to 20 in PhDThesisED182.cls, which automatically generates the front and back covers according to these pieces of information
  • new commands can of course be added, the user is free to implement them either directly in the PhDThesisED182.cls file or to create a new commands.tex file that shall be included in the preamble of main.tex
  • the language (french by default) can be modified line 26 in PhDThesisED182.cls

Class options:

  • showNotes allows to display (resp. to hide) the notes environments if the option is enabled (resp. disabled). This is useful to quickly show or hide one’s personal notes in the core of the text
  • showLineNumbers allows to display (resp. to hide) the line numbers if the option is enabled (resp. disabled)
  • showWatermark allows to display (resp. to hide) a watermark on every page of the document if the option is enabled (resp. disabled)
